This spot is famous for its soft pink backdrop, and it worked beautifully against Abby's sister's pastel outfit and the stunning bouquet. From there, it’s just a short stroll to the steps of the Registry Office. We took advantage of the walk and squeezed in some portraits along the way. We arrived at the Registry Office steps by 3:45 PM, all set for the big moment!
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place in the Thomas Room, running from 4:00 to 4:30 PM. They exchanged private vows, and I even snuck in a few sitcom quotes (but I won't spill the beans on which ones!). Abby's dad walked her down the aisle, and even with only seven people present, it felt incredibly special. A small crowd doesn’t mean fewer moments; it just means more intimacy!
After the ceremony, we sent Abby and Andy's two best friends ahead to order drinks. This little move allowed Abby and Andy to enjoy a stretch of photos together without an audience. We wrapped up our photo session on the steps of Parliament House just as the sun began to set. It had been overcast all afternoon, but the light turned up at the perfect moment! From there, we strolled down Bourke Street, past Pellegrini's, and into a cozy little cellar bar for champagne as the last light faded. What a way to celebrate!
Abby wore a simple off-the-shoulder dress that was just stunning. And let’s not forget about Andy’s dog, Tilly, a cocker spaniel! She didn’t make the guest list this time, and everyone was a bit sad about it.
